The Cheese & Wine Shop - Hastings                                2025

   

The Cheese and Wine Shop in Hastings is located on 2nd St in downtown Hastings.  This is the street we've been to several times for the Passport.  Apparently, many of the interesting shops are here.  

When we walked in, we were greeted by the very friendly Kailea, who told us all about this business.  

They have many different types of wines, cheeses, meats, and a lot of other things from around the world.  Many of you know Cindy and her wine.  The first thing she asked was "What's a great tasting red wine?"  After a bit more questioning, Kailea recommended a red wine from Germany.  That was perfect since Cindy likes to bring up her German heritage often.  She had a taste of the wine and bought a bottle.  She also bought some aged cheeses and Pork Pate.  If you have some time, have a seat and enjoy a glass of wine and order the cheese board.  

An interesting part of this location, is another store in the back called Three Pink Elephants.  That works out pretty well for The Cheese and Wine Shop because you have to go through here to get to the other business.

I'm not a wine drinker but these wine stores we explore on the Passport all seem to have an interesting story somewhere in their history.  Sometimes the owner, sometimes a building, maybe a staff person - just start talking and you might find some fun facts to take with you that helps make your Nebraska Passport just a little more interesting.
